Festival of school sports of the CIS will be held in the end of April

February 14, in the Rossotrudnichestvo hosted a regular meeting of the organizing Committee of the Festival of the school of sport of the CIS. The meeting, chaired by the head of Rossotrudnichestvo Konstantin Kosachev was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the CIS Sergey Ivanov, Executive the Director of the Interstate Fund for humanitarian cooperation of States - participants of the CIS (IFESCCO) Armen Smbatian, the Deputy of the State Duma, the celebrated Soviet figure skater Irina Rodnina, the Executive Director of Fund of support of Olympians of Russia Alexander Катушев, representatives of ministries, agencies and national sport federations of the Russian Federation.

In the agenda of the meeting included issues related to the adjustment of the timing and the programme of the coming festival, the procedure of the invitation to the competition of national teams from the CIS States - participants, and also current organizational issues, informs a site of Rossotrudnichestvo.

Opening the session, Konstantin Kosachev has informed the audience on the execution of decisions of the previous session of the organizing Committee, summed up the General results of the work on the preparation of the festival and also outlined some of the outstanding issues.

In the course of the discussion it was decided to postpone the dates of the festival at the end of April 2013, with the opening of the conduct in the Moscow region. Also in the framework of the cultural program of the festival Executive Director of the all-Russian Federation of school sports Oleg Gadyuchkin suggested for the participants of the festival, a series of study tours of the Moscow schools, having revived the tradition of the Soviet school exchanges.

With the aim of launching the process of approving the composition of teams with national specialized agencies of the States - participants of the CIS it was decided to officially submit to the Executive Committee of the CIS the Festival Regulations for further distribution in the countries of the Commonwealth.

According to the unanimous decision of the members of the organizing Committee, Chief judge of the Festival was elected the celebrated Soviet basketball player, the Olympic champion Ivan Edeshko. In addition, the participants of the meeting agreed upon a draft of the emblem of the upcoming sports events.

In the course of the meeting, Alexander Katushev on behalf of the Fund of support of Olympians expressed willingness to hold the festival and to consider the possibility to provide additional financial support.
